One of my favorite things about working at Kinsta, is partaking in conversations and banter with colleagues from around the world. Recently, my colleague Roger announced a 100 day blogging challenge in Slack. To be honest, I’m not quite sure why I signed up to participate because I already spend eight hours a day writing and editing content on the Kinsta blog. Regardless, I decided to step up and say yes, so here we are.
I’m no stranger to these kinds of blogging challenges. In the past, I managed to finish a few 30 day challenges. 100 days will be a lot more difficult, especially with my day job, so I have to take care not to burn myself out. Thus, I won’t be publishing my usual technically-oriented content on a daily basis. Instead, I’m planning on doing a 100 day series about the stories behind my favorite photos from the past decade. I like this idea for three reasons.
- I enjoy photography, and have a lot of photos I never shared on this blog.
- Writing about photos doesn’t require much mental bandwidth.
- I recently got a Leica Q2. I haven’t used it much due to the COVID-19 pandemic. By the time June or July rolls around, hopefully I can get out and shoot some photos for this series.
I’m looking forward to participating in this blogging challenge and rediscovering old photos. I don’t plan on incorporating any keyword research into these posts, so it’ll be interesting to see if my monthly traffic numbers go up.
