I work at home, and my setup is a 15″ Retina MacBook Pro with an external display. Recently, I purchased a new TV and was looking for an inexpensive way to split the HDMI source from my MacBook Pro to both the external display and TV. The Fosmon 2×1 Bi-Directional Splitter Switch ended up being the perfect solution.
The Fosmon 2×1 HDMI Splitter Switch features one HDMI input and two HDMI outputs. The single button on the unit switches between the two HDMI outputs with corresponding status LED lights. Power is supplied via HDMI, so there’s no need for an external power source. The unit supports HDMI, 3D, 2K, 4K, and audio. HDCP passthrough is also supported.
I have no negative things to say about this device. Switching displays takes a few seconds, but that’s expected from a non-powered device. I highly recommend the Fosmon 2×1 HDMI Splitter Switch if you’re looking for an unobtrusive and inexpensive way to use two displays with HDMI source.
